The East Haven Courier publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in town. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. The report may be edited for size and content.
Wednesday, Dec. 17
• A 56-year-old New Haven man was arrested at 10:15 a.m. and charged with criminal trespass in the third degree and larceny in the sixth degree.
Thursday, Dec. 18
• A 42-year-old New Haven man was arrested at 1 p.m. on a warrant charging him with criminal impersonation, larceny in the sixth degree, forgery in the second degree, interfering with a police officer, failure to appear in the first degree, and two counts of failure to appear in the second degree. In the same incident a 35-year-old Hamden woman was arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit larceny in the sixth degree.
Friday, Dec. 19
• A 43-year-old man and a 53-year-old man of the same Guilford Court address were arrested at 11 and 11:30 a.m. and charged with disorderly conduct and assault in the third degree following a dispute.
• A 27-year-old man of Cortina Road was arrested at 9:30 p.m. and charged with assault in the third degree, disorderly conduct, and strangulation in the third degree. In the same incident a 44-year-old of the same address was arrested at 9:42 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct and assault in the third degree.
Saturday, Dec. 20
• A 64-year-old man of Thompson Street was arrested at 10:15 a.m. and charged with disorderly conduct.
Sunday, Dec. 21
No arrests were made.
• Police investigated a burglary complaint that occurred at 73 Coe Avenue on Dec. 21 at approximately 11:53 p.m. At the time of the burglary the homeowner was home asleep. The homeowner awoke to find one subject in the bedroom and another in the hallway. One of the subjects displayed a handgun and told the homeowner to be quiet. The subjects left the residence with jewelry and a small TV. The homeowner was not injured and was unable to get a good look at the subjects. Entry into the residence was gained after the subjects pried open a rear sliding door. Direction of travel, or if a vehicle was involved, was unknown. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the East Haven Police Department at 203-468-3820.
Monday, Dec. 22
• A 53-year-old Hamden man was arrested at 10:15 a.m. and charged with criminal violation of a protective order.
• A 19-year-old man of Bradley Street was arrested at 2:30 p.m. and charged with larceny in the sixth degree.
• A 24-year-old Milford man was arrested at 6:38 p.m. on a warrant charging him with failure to appear on a motor vehicle summons.
Tuesday, Dec. 23
• An 18-year-old man of Legend Lane was arrested at 2:15 a.m. and charged with disorderly conduct.
• A 48-year-old Bridgeport man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 9:41 p.m. for operating an unregistered motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle without a license, failure to have insurance, failure to display plate or insert, and improper use of marker.
Wednesday, Dec. 24
• A 26-year-old woman of Main Street was arrested at 1:51 a.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and failure to have insurance.
• A 33-year-old man of Fall River, Massachusetts, was arrested at 2:07 a.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and failure to drive a reasonable distance apart.
• A 46-year-old New Haven man was arrested at 7:48 a.m. and charged with breach of peace in the second degree.
Thursday, Dec. 25
• A 25-year-old man of Main Street was arrested at 10:46 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct and criminal violation of a protective order.
Friday, Dec. 26
• A 45-year-old man of Thompson Avenue was arrested at 5:45 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct.
• A 51-year-old West Haven woman was arrested at 7:56 p.m. and charged with criminal impersonation, use and/or possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of narcotics. In the same incident a 49-year-old West Haven man was arrested and charged with use and/or possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of narcotics, and four motor vehicle violations.
Saturday, Dec. 27
• A 61-year-old New Haven man was arrested at 1:15 p.m. and charged with larceny in the second degree.
• A 19-year-old New Haven man was arrested at 9:55 p.m. and charged with possession of less than four ounces of marijuana, illegal possession near a school or public housing, illegal sale within 1,500 feet of a school or public housing, and illegal manufacture, sale, or distribution of marijuana.
Sunday, Dec. 28

Monday, Dec. 29
• A 46-year-old man of Short Beach Road was arrested at 9 a.m. and charged with violation of probation.
• A 27-year-old New Haven man was arrested at 10:51 a.m. and charged with criminal mischief in the third degree, larceny in the sixth degree, and unlawful entry into a coin machine.
• A 22-year-old North Haven man was arrested at 2:40 p.m. on a warrant charging him with failure to appear on a motor vehicle summons.
• A 33-year-old New Haven man was arrested at 6:13 p.m. and charged with use and/or possession of drug paraphernalia, interfering with an officer, tampering with or fabricating evidence, and illegal manufacture, distribution, or sale of marijuana.
• A 22-year-old New Haven man was arrested at 7 p.m. and charged with use and/or possession of drug paraphernalia and four motor vehicle violations.
• A 42-year-old man of Edward Street was arrested at 8:35 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct, criminal mischief in the third degree, and assault in the third degree on a person aged 60 or greater.
• A 48-year-old Bristol man was arrested at 9:50 p.m. and charged with one count of larceny in the second degree, two counts of larceny in the sixth degree, and two counts of burglary in the third degree. In the same incident a 44-year-old woman of the same address was arrested and charged with one count of conspiracy to commit larceny in the second degree, two counts of conspiracy to commit larceny in the sixth degree, and two counts of burglary in the third degree.
• A 20-year-old man of Hemingway Avenue was arrested at 11:22 p.m. and charged with use and/or possession of drug paraphernalia.
Tuesday, Dec. 30
• A 30-year-old woman of Messina Drive was arrested at 8:29 p.m. and charged with criminal violation of a protective order.
