I feel that we need to provide two NLPD officers to every utility site where holes are being dug in the road.

One to daydream while looking down the hole so that nothing really has to change, and another officer to direct and safeguard traffic and keep the citizens from pushing the first officer in.

NL - I'm fine with havin' some kind-a parkin' easement for residents and employees. I work downtown and I gotta do the shuffle too. An' I'm workin' tryin' to get people to come on downtown and help revitalize it so as we got more in the windows besides signs tellin' us to call and ask for Susan or Jim.

I don't know that parkin' meters is the way to go, but you gotta admit the two hour shuffle isn't makin' us friends with the consumers, except those that ain't stayin' long, like who's goin' to the coffee shops an' then ridin' on.

I think I speak for everyone who actually lives in downtown when I say thank you to the city of New London for not having parking meters. Parkings already scarce, let's not start charging for it. Then I really won't be able to afford to live here.
