Guilford police arrested a mother and son on charges relating to possession and sale of drugs, including marijuana, at their Richard Road home. The arrests took place after a search warrant was executed at the home on Dec. 5, based on an ongoing investigation, said Deputy Chief of Police Jeffrey Hutchinson.
The warrant was served at 48 Richard Road at 12:10 p.m. on Dec. 5, during which time police located numerous items relating to use and sale of illegal drugs. Pills, marijuana, scales, and packaging materials for sale of the drugs were among items located in the home, according to Hutchinson.
Police arrested Klayton Clancy, 19, of 48 Richard Road and charged him with possession of narcotics, possession of controlled substance, drug cultivation/manufacture with intent to sell, operating a drug factory, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Because the home is within 1,500 feet of Baldwin Middle School, police also charged Clancy with illegal possession of narcotics near a school and possession of drug paraphernalia within 1,500 feet of a school.
Holly Green, 48, of 48 Richard Road, was charged with possession of controlled substance, operating a drug factory, and possession of drug paraphernalia within 1500 feet of a school.
At the time the search was conducted, police located a legally registered firearm in the home. The weapon’s owner voluntarily turned the firearm over to police later that day and requested it be destroyed, said Hutchinson.
Clancy and Green were released and scheduled to appear in court Dec. 16.
