Both northbound and southbound lanes were closed to land Life Star helocoptor to transport the seriously injured driver of the car. Amtrak lines currently shut down as the removal of the old Thames River Groton / New London Railroad draw bridge, and the installation of the new lift bridge. The fire had spread quickly throughout the dwelling before fire fighters arrived. There were no injuries. Local and state fire marshal offices have been called in.
