Vinnie-President of Strays Unlimited and Family

This is Vinnie Gugliuzza with his two sisters and his father that all came to support the event. My father, Vinnie, was so greatful with the whole evening.

He is overwhelmed with thanks to everyone who helped make the evening such a great success. He had never gotten any financial or community support before and felt so blessed that evening. His own father used to be a dancer himself and won a jitterbug contest in his youger years. They all had such a great time.

Nora Venne, our west coast swing choreographer, and her partner danced a country two step and brought a little southern twang to the whole evening.

The dance was so much fun you just couldnt help but want to get up and join in.

What a show-stopping performance this was. It was almost like a show down with the 2 styles of dances they performed, coming together at the end for an amazing combination I had never seen before.

It is so amazing the talent we have right here in Southeastern Ct.

This is my better half who came to support me and Strays Unlimited. He had a great time and learned alot about all the different kinds of dances. He may even want to learn himself oneday....maybe. lol.

He also came to support Morgan Hillhouse who is his good friends step daughter. He and her whole family were so proud!

There were lots of "ups and downs" in this cha cha routine. Whether is was Jey being kicked to the floor or Morgan sliding through Jey's legs to end in an effortless pose.

They performed to the song "Black or White" by Michael Jackson and entertained the whole crowd with their amazing tricks as well as alot of sass for this upbeat routine. As their choreographer, I couldnt have been more proud!

Julia Pratt, one of our tiniest supporters, came dressed in her ballroom gown to cheer on her mommy, Janine Pratt, as she danced with partner, Joe Sabolesky for the intermission show as Jamie Wolman sang the the song "Memories" from the hit broadway show, "Cats".

Julia also assisted giving roses to the the contestants to present to their choreographers for all of their support and dedication.

I have a good feeling, one day, our little Julia will be a star herself one day!

Suzanne Hendrix and Brett Barbour

Suzanne and Brett were the "wild card" couple of the competition. Both of them had very little or no dance experience going into this competition. With their amazing choreographer, Vadim Asmolov, they proved to everyone that anyone can learn how to dance. They learned to dance the Tango in 1 week and put on a hot, amazing performance no one could forget. Suzanne and Brett work for the Eugene O'Neil Theater and had lots of support to cheer them on. They had so much fun that they both plan to continue daning at the Fred Astaire Studio in Mystic.

Katie

Katie is one of the newest resues at Strays Unlimited. She, her two other sisters and her mother were rescued from Stone Container at the end of Dock rd about 7 weeks ago. Rosie, their mother was captured, pregnant and brought to Strays Unlimited. Rosie was being abused by local workers who were throwing stones at her. Rosie is a ferrall cat who currently has little trust in humans. She will be trained to learn how to adapt to her new home. Katie and her other 2 sisters are already people friendly and are very healthy and safe now.

Marissa and Mychal

Marissa Pulaski(17-Williams School) and Mychal Woodard(17-Williams School) danced a funky West Coast Swing choreographed by Nora Venne at the event and they also were the top male and female dancers of the night.

In Addition to being contestants, Marissa and Mychal were also the youngest choreographers of the bunch. They choreographed the winning hip hop routine of the evening danced by Bridget Biddle and Jake Lefker

Edgard Hunt(17-Williams Shcool) and Sagar Parekh(17-Williams School) started off the nites event with an exciting Hip Hop/Bhangra dance mix. It was amazing.

Edgard was supposed to dance in the competition with Jamie Wolman but due to an injury, Jamie was unable to compete. Edgard still wanted to be a part of the production so his friend Sagar stepped up to the plate and worked with Edgard to put together a wonderful performance for all to enjoy.
